Mandatory Electrical Inspections

From the 1st July 2020 the government is introducing mandatory electrical tests on all rental properties. For any new tenancy granted or a rolling agreement landlords have to supply tenants with a copy of the electrical condition report. If any defects are found landlords have 28 days in which to rectify these and provide an update to tenants to confirm the works have been completed. Existing tenancies have until April 2021 to have the report commissioned and issued. If we currently manage your property we are dealing with tenancy renewals first and then moving on to existing tenancies later in the year. As you can imagine this is a huge undertaking especially when some tenants are still not keen to allow people in to the property.
